No one won the Mega Millions drawing two days before Christmas, but who wouldn’t like some extra cash to use on those post-Christmas sales? Oh, like about $206 million worth?
That’s the estimated jackpot total for the next Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, Dec. 27. It's a total that might buy shoppers an entire store. The Mega Millions website reportsthe estimated cash option payout will be a rather large $151.9 million.
The winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday, December 23rd were as follows:
3 - 5 - 8 -18 - 29 and Mega Ball: 14.
Lottery Post reports that 31 players matched the first five numbers without the Mega ball to win $250,000, 3 of them coming from New Jersey this time. 15 consecutive Mega Millions drawings have now taken place without seeing a jackpot winner.
Chances for a green Christmas were higher than usual this past weekend because Saturday’s Powerball drawing went off with a jackpot prize of $125 million. The winning ticket was sold at Wesley’s Restaurant and Lounge in Elkton, Maryland, according to KYTX CBS 19. The lump sum payout will be almost $52 million.
Business owner John Wesley said the winner had already called to confirm his numbers. " The guy said, “I'll be there in two days to see you. I want everything to settle down a little,” Wesley said.
The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday, December 24 were 14-16-30-51-52, and the Powerball was 19. According to the Washington Post, seven players matched the first five numbers without the Powerball to earn $200,000, one of them being from New Jersey.
Meanwhile, The Inquisitr reports that an unclaimed $77 million Powerball lottery winning ticket from June 29 purchased in Georgia was set to expire at 5:00 p.m. Monday evening.
The Georgia Lottery has a 180-day window for players to claim their winnings.
