AT&T launches LG Thrive pre-paid Android smartphone !!!!!!!!!!!


Want a smartphone but hate contracts? AT&T is looking to crach the pre-paid market with the Android-powered LG Thrive.
AT&T has announced it is launched its first pre-paid smartphone in the form of the LG Thrive, adding the device to the company’s GoPhone program so customers can pay as they go—including mobile data—without committing to a long-term contact. Of course, AT&T will also be offering an on-contract version of the same device, dubbed the LG Phoenix. Both go on sale April 17.

Sharp IS05 an Android phone for women


Sharp_IS05_1.jpgThe Sharp IS05 is the latest addition of Japanese telecom operator KDDi's lineup. The phone is being pitched as the first Android powered phone targeted at women. How, you may ask and the answer according to the manufacturer is that the phone is designed specially to fit and slide into handbags. The shape is combined with chic colors like light green and the most obvious bright pink. Coming to the technicalities the phone has a 3.4 inch screen supporting a resolution of 854×480 pixels, 8 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, motion sensor, Micro SHDC card slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The IS05 runs on Android ver 2.2 and is powered by a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor.

Android Honeycomb Is Coming, Already In Use!!!!!!!!!!!!



So yesterday, Google officially announced Android 3.0, known as Honeycomb (Google tends to name their Android builds after sweet, delicious desserts).  Aimed directly at combating the Apple iPad head-on, more and more Honeycomb-powered tablets are being leaked or revealed.
Well, we’ve seen two already in-use come through the Chitika network – those are the Motorola Xoom and the LG G-Slate, which announces itself as the LG-v909.  Both have been officially announced, and since they’re already at least in use for testing, appear to be fairly close to release.

Binatone Android Touch Tablet at Rs 9000 in India


Binatone HomeSurfBinatone Telecom has entered into Indian market with the launch of it Touch Table powered with Android at an price of Rs 9,000. The device by Binatone is named as Touch Tablet.
The newly launched Home Surf Touch Tablet is based on Android technology and its powered by Google. The Home Surf Tablet runs on Google Android 1.6 operating system and has an 8″ resistive screen. Its powered with 128MB RAM supporting ARM 11 667 MHz processor.
This device also incldes connectivity through Wi-Fi and 2GB internal memory. At the price of Rs 9000 Binatone Touch Tablet would be the cheapest Android tablets available in the Indian market.

Designer Kristian Ulrich Larsen introduced a Flip phone with triple display.Flashy Flip phone will collapse in your pocket and have three flexible AMOLED touchscreens with power of Android……

Flip phone is differentiates it self from the norm of a smartphone and incorporates the physical product into the interaction with what’s on the screen.Flip phone is from designer Kristian Ulrich Larsen and it’s a triple-display handset running stock Android that pops out like a tent, collapses into a standard (if curved) slate  and even folds out like a little book. Each screen is said to be Super AMOLED hiding behind Gorilla Glass with steel mesh acting as hinges and there’s a full QWERTY keyboard.

Dual Core Android 2.3 Gingerbread LG Optimus 2X announced


South Korean mobile phone manufacturer LG Electronics has announced today the world’s first dual-core Android Smartphone LG Optimus 2X. The LG Optimus 2X is indeed going to be the most powerful Android Smartphone as it will come pre-loaded with Tegra 2 chipset and 1GHz dual-core processor. Previously it was known as LG Star but now it seems that LG has planned to drop this name because LG Optimus 2X depict the device’s actual running.
The device is said to bring greater performance along with reduced power consumption. It will be released with Android 2.2 FroYo operating system but in future it will be upgradable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The LG Optimus 2X is going to first hit its home land markets that is South Korea next month and then Europeand Asia will follow.There is nothing in the press release about US release and its pricing. Samsung Android Froyo Galaxy Player against Apple iPod touch


Rumor mill doesn’t seems to stop, as CES 2011 is just around the corner and yet another rumor popped up today. This time rumors are suggesting that Samsung is working these days to take on Apple’s iPod touchwith its upcoming Android based Samsung Galaxy Player. According to the source, Samsung Galaxy Playerhas already been announced by Samsung as bearing a model number YP-GB1. The Samsung Galaxy Playeris supposed to bring Samsung Galaxy S experience to the device but just without calling functionality.
Furthermore the device is said to be packed with Android 2.2 FroYo operating system and a 1GHz processorjust as Samsung Galaxy S. Other features are going to be same as well, you can check out its full specifications below. Anyhow it is also expected that Samsung will also announce two more of these AndroidPMPs, bearing model no YP-G50 and YP-GB70 in CES 2011. However there are no words on Samsung Galaxy Player’s availability or pricing right now, but we are sure that it would not take that much long for this device to get official announcement.

Google updates Gesture Search for Android


Have you ever wanted to search for a contact or an application without going back to the home screen? Now you can do that, because Google has updated its gesture search app and you simply have to write on your mobile touch screen and Gesture Search will find it for you.
The new version of Gesture Search Android app 1.2 is now available in Android market, which includes a new motion gesture. The Gesture Search app for now only recognizes English alphabets and requires Android 1.6 or above operating systems. You can download the app from here.
What is new motion gesture?
When you double flip or flip your phone away and then back, it will automatically start the gesture search no matter where you are. Double flip or flipping eliminates the need to activate Search app, you can also check it out in the video below. You can also turn the feature on or adjust its sensitivity in Settings. Google has also fixed some bugs and has enhanced the usability by adding accessibility support.

Google shows off Android 3.0 Honeycomb at CES 2011 [video] posted by varmas


Now see what we have it here. This is about the tablet-friendly 3.0 Honeycomb. The Android 3.0, codenamedHoneycomb, is going to be exclusively for tablets and that means it is not only supposed for the phones. This solves the query why we saw the title “Entirely for Tablet” in the video earlier. The video was appeared on theAndroidDevelopers YouTube account. It is just like how iOS for iPhone is different from the iOS for iPad.
A version of Google Chrome in a sleek black UI came into view on the tablet with the video that stated “Experience the full web with best in class web-browsing”. The video has got widgets for email, calendar, and browser favorites with the app launcher that can be seen at the bottom. Also there’s Gmail for the tablet andYouTube has also been redesigned. The tablet comes with the feature to talk face-to-face with many Google Talk users. What’s more? The 3D Google Maps is also there which adds a yet another exciting feature.
