worlds first Midnight Shot camera review!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Capture creepy nighttime photos in total darkness with this infrared Midnight Shot camera from ThinkGeek.
When it comes to lighting, most of us like to take photographs in the daylight or with a bright flash that compensates when in a dimly-lit area–pretty standard stuff. But if that kind of photography just doesn’t suit your fancy, ThinkGeek now offers a camera that allows you to shoot in complete darkness, for whatever strange reason you might need to do so.
The Midnight Shot NV-1 Night Vision Camera ($130) uses infrared technology to illuminate scenes that look like complete darkness to the naked human eye. At only 5 megapixels, the camera’s “standard photography” mode might go unused, but it offers decent quality photos and video footage for whatever adventures or mischief you need to capture on film. When used during the daytime, the night vision mode with infrared can often see through fabric, paper, or other thin material–but as ThinkGeek makes sure to note–they’d prefer you not use the camera for various forms of evil. Whether you want to sneak up on your roommate in the dark or capture those elusive lions on your next African safari, the Midnight Shot’s invisible infrared flash will be there to capture a creepy photo that looks like something from The Real World’s bedtime cameras.

Gymboss 2011 Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gymboss
The Gymboss is one of my favorite pieces ofrunning gear.

It's cheap, easy to use and makes interval running a breeze.

Check out my Gymboss review below for more informationIntervals the Hard Way

I used to do my intervals with help of the stop watch function of my watch. The problem is that you can only record one time on a stop watch. So if I'd have to do a 4 minute hard, 3 minute easy session, I would do 7 minutes on my stop watch, and then keep track of the 4 min/3min split.

Very annoying and it makes those runs very restless. You are constantly looking at your watch to make sure you do not miss the next split.

Nike+ SportWatch GPS first look!!!!!!!!!!

Nike's new GPS watch just arrived in our offices so we thought we'd provide a quick peek. As we mentioned in January, Nike partnered with the car navigation company Tom Tom to develop this $200 watch. It tracks speed and distance via GPS or through a wireless connection to the shoe pod.

Google VP Andy Rubin defends Android’s openness!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite reports to the contrary, Android head Andy Rubin has come out in a new blog post stating that Android, the #1 mobile operating system in the US, will remain as open as it has always been.
android
In an attempt to tamp-down fears that Google was closing the open doors of Android to the development community, Google’s vice president of engineering Andy Rubin took to theAndroid Developers blog with a single message: Android will remain an open platform.
Rubin’s assurances that Android will remain the open-source mobile platform it’s been since the beginning follow aBloomberg Businessweek report from last week that claimed Google has begun reigning in the “will-nilly tweaks to the software” made by the wide variety of handset makers and app developers that produce content for the mobile operating system.
Evidence of this came in the form of additional reports that showed Google has delayed releasing the source code of the Honeycomb version of Android, despite the fact that the OS has been available on the Motorola Xoom tablet since the end of February.
“Recently, there’s been a lot of misinformation in the press about Android and Google’s role in supporting the ecosystem. I’m writing in the spirit of transparency and in an attempt to set the record straight,” writes Rubin.

Skype launches ‘in the classroom’ worldwide network for teachers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teacher already use Skype to connect their students to the world at large. Skype's new program, "in the classroom," helps educators do so more easily.
skype-large-logo
The Skype video chat service has long been used by teachers to connect students with the world outside their reach, from guest speakers to partner classrooms located around the globe. And with today’s launch of “Skype in the classroom,” providing that service has become an official goal of the company, and teachers can now more easily get help and advice from other educators to expand their students’ worldview.
According the the company’s press release, “in the classroom” is “a place for teachers to connect with each other, find partner classes and share inspiration.” It allows teachers to create their own profiles, through which they can describe their classes and their teaching goals. This feature also enables teachers to discuss practices with other educators, and to learn techniques they might not otherwise have access to.

Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard Review!!!!!!!!!!!

Logitech K750 When you have companies slapping solar cells on everything from cell phones to backpacks so they can tie on recycled-cardboard tags with hemp cord, call them green, and charge twice the price, it’s easy to get jaded and dismiss solar gadgets as gimmicks. Until about the third time you have to replace or recharge the batteries in your wireless keyboard, and realize a solar panel would eliminate that need forever. Like calculators and watches, Logitech’s K750 proves that wireless keyboards make ideal candidates for solar-panel transplants, giving users both convenience and a clear conscience.

Design

At first glace, some users might not even give second thought to the inch tall strips of solar cells above the keys on the K750. Surrounded by black and situated under a seamless, glossy layer of plastic, they stand out less than you might imagine, but provide all the power the keyboard needs.

Canon brings Thunderbolt technology to cameras!!!!!!!!!

Thunderbolt
Canon will be the next major company to introduce Thunderbolt technology.
Intel debuted its Thunderbolt technology last month, and now the 10-gigabit-per-second transfer system is making its way to more and more consumer devices. Canon recently announced it will begin integrating support for the blazingly fast transfer tech in its products.
Apple notoriously jumped on board first with Thunderbolt I/O, putting the new interface in its new MacBook Pro models. According to Apple, the addition is 12 times faster than FireWire and 20 times faster than USB 2.0. Canon will be second in line to partner with Intel and offer its users a shot at remarkably fast connection speeds. “We are excited about Thunderbolt technology and feel it will bring new levels of performance and simplicity to the video creation market,” Canon exec Hiroo Edakubo said in a statement. It hasn’t been made explicitly clear how Canon will implement Thunderbolt’s services.

Firefox 4 review: Better, faster, stronger!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firefox 4
Mozilla Firefox 4 is finally here, and it’s better than ever. But can it beat Google’s Chrome 10, Opera 11, or the new and greatly improved Internet Explorer 9? Find out in our hands-on review.
The browser war heated to a burning orange glow Tuesday with Mozilla’s release of Firefox 4. Just as Internet Explorer 9, Opera 11 and Chrome 10 before it, Firefox 4 has cut away the fat, and morphed into a lean, mean browsing machine armed with a ninja’s speed and agility. It still has the Firefox feel, but with a major, much-needed makeover in both the user interface and performance departments. The transformation is so complete that Mozilla appears to have beaten back the sudden onslaught of competition in the form of IE9. It may even triumph over Chrome 10 — but that fight’s one to watch closely.
Changes to version 4 are many, widespread and far exceed those of recent updates. Seeing as Firefox 3 launched in 2008, and the most recent version, 3.6, landed in January 2010, this update is long overdue. From look and feel to security and graphics, here’s everything you need to know about Firefox 4.

At its CTIA "Unpacked" event today, Samsung showed off a refreshed, thinner Galaxy Tab 10.1 and its brand new Galaxy Tab 8.9 as well as pricing/availability for both.
For many companies, CTIA has taken a backseat to the Mobile World Congress and CES this year, but not for Samsung. Just a month after unveiling its Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung showed off two new tablets and mouthful of software and UI enhancements for its entire tablet lineup. Our complete recap is below.

exclusive launch of Wi-Fi HTC Flyer tablet!!!!!!!!!!!!

it’s no secret that mobile device maker HTC is getting into the Android tablet game, and as that day approaches the company is lining up retail partners to make sure its gizmos get into consumers hands. American electronics retailer Best Buy has just announced that it will be the exclusive retail launch partner for the Wi-Fi HTC Flyer Android tablet—although the company isn’t yet offering any pricing information, or saying anything more definite than “spring” for when the device may go on sale.
HTC Flyer (March 2011)
“Over the past few months we’ve seen several new tablets enter the market, and we’re especially excited to partner with HTC to bring the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer to our customers as a national retail launch exclusive,” said Best buy Mobile head of merchandising Scott Anderson, in a statement. “We have worked hard to bring a large assortment of great tablets to Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and the HTC Flyer is a great example of that effort.”

Motz Wooden Speaker review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This tiny handmade speaker will play music via USB or SD card and has a built-in FM radio and rechargeable battery.
One of the only problems that continues to plague iPhones, iPods and other portable music players is that when it comes to sharing your music with others around you, you’re stuck with either the device’s crummy speakers or a relatively large portable dock. At less than two and a half inches long, this tiny wooden speaker joins the category of smallest portable ways to make the most of your music. The Motz Wooden Speaker ($60) is made of apricot wood and includes a built-in FM radio, plus USB and SD card inputs for playing MP3s. Plug in your iPod with its USB cord and you’ve got a tiny portable speaker for showing off your superb music taste to all your friends. While we assume its function as a portable speaker is the most desirable quality, the handmade Motz Wooden Speaker also includes a standard headphone jack, should you want to listen alone from your SD card or… the radio. Do people do that anymore? A rechargeable lithium-polymer battery means you can get about five hours battery life from the speaker, or ten using earphones.
