HP Veer 4G review || HP Veer 4G landing at AT&T May 15 !!!!!!!!!!!

HP Veer 4G (hand)
Technology giant Hewlett-Packard is finally getting into the business of launching smartphones running Palm’s webOS: it’s compact HP Veer 4G smartphone will be going on sale from AT&T on May 15 for $99.99, with a new two-year service agreement. The Veer is a departure from the growing footprint of smartphones, which have often focused on offering larger-and-larger touchscreens to tap into digital entertainment capabilities. The Veer, well, veers a different direction, emphasizing small size, light weight, and extreme portability without sacrificing any smartphone capabilities.
“Veer is introducing the smartphone experience to a new generation of users,” said HP’s VP of Palm smartphone product management Stephane Maes, in a statement. “Its unique combination of high-end webOS smartphone features in a surprisingly compact package is just right for customers who want to do more with less.”

Best Laptops under $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Save some cash with the 10 best laptops under $500, from companies including Sony, Dell and HP.
Don’t tell the hordes swarming into the Apple Store every weekend, but the days of needing to spend over $1,000 to get a quality laptop passed by while most of them were still in high school. Even before netbooks came along sending manufacturers into a frenzy while chewing their own margins down to pennies just to compete, prices on Windows laptops were in a freefall, leaving today’s prices at rock bottom. With Windows 7 now standard, you won’t have to deal with Microsoft’s last dud of an operating system this year either. Just about any notebook under $500 will serve your most basic needs, but some inevitably do it a whole lot better than others. Here are some of our favorites. If you have a favorite you would like to share, or want us to know about, please post it below!
Note: All prices reflect what you can find these notebooks for on the street or online, not necessarily MSRP.

Laptop manufacturers now elbow for eyes with bright colors and unique designs as they compete with the growing tablet market, and each other.

Roy G. Biv is about to make himself comfortable in the notebook section at your local retailer. Manufacturers are preparing to deviate from the standard black and grey color schemes and will soon produce configurations in a variety of colors. As tablets are increasingly seen as the hippest new device on the block, PC manufacturers are being forced to compete for coolness, if only aesthetically.
For low-priced mini netbooks, color is the main appeal. Since the vast majority now feature the same 10.1-inch display, Atom processor, and 250GB hard drive, color has become the easiest way to differentiate between models. Consumers have begun treating netbooks as an accessory, rather than a computer. And what’s cooler than being able to match your netbook with your shoes? Here’s a rundown of the major PC manufacturers’ plans to make computing more colorful:

HP Palm’s webOS Topaz tablet pics leaked!!!!!!!!!

Topaz
Apparently February 9 couldn't come soon enough: Well before HP's scheduled press event, details have started to surface on the so-called Topaz and Opal tablets from HP Palm.
Well that didn’t take long. Earlier this month at CES, HP exec Todd Bradley not-so-subtly hinted that a webOS tablet would be introduced February 14. Today, we’re getting a thorough first look at the ecosystem HP plans to introduce in a few weeks.
Engadget first published internal images from a “trusted tipster” this morning, revealing HP Palm’s Topaz tablet: a 9-inch, button-less device featuring a front-facing camera, microUSB port, and multiple speakers. The site also claims that Topaz will run on an unknown 1.2GHz processor and will most likely launch in September.
But that’s not all. It’s been assumed that February 9 will introduce multiple devices, and the event’s invitations read “Something big, Something small, Something beyond.” So it’s only fitting that the “something small” be a 7-inch tablet. “Opal” is also projected to make an appearance the ninth, and Engadget’s insider says it will be sized comparably to the Galaxy Tab, except “smaller and wider.” It will most likely launch after Topaz.

WebOS Coming To The PC? What?

Tweetsare coming in from HP’s press conference today that WebOS – the mobile operating system HP purchased along with Palm last year – will be coming to desktops and laptops.  Very few details as yet, but wow… what a move.
As of Q4 2009, HP was by far and away the biggest home computer company, holding nearly 20% of the market according to Gartner.  If they start aggressively marketing and distributing WebOS, that’s a serious threat to Microsoft Windows.

HP TouchPad Tablet – Features & Specifications

hp touchpadhp touchpadIn the world of tablet computers where everyone is seeing Android’s latest version as the future, computer giant hp too joined the party of tablets and differentially this time cuts the Queue and opts for a different platform which is dubbed as “HP Web OS”. At first impression, it seems that this tablet is perfectly between Apple’s iPad and Motorola Xoom, as where iPad uses 1 GHz A4 Chip as the processor and Xoom’s dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz processor, this hp touch pad uses the latest dual core 1.2GHz snapdragon processor which is sure to give a tough fight to Motorola Xoom.
