have seen original quadro copters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

robots_three_quadrocopters
Researchers in Switzerland have created flying robot quadrocopters capable of responding fast enough to juggle and bounce a ball back and forth with one another.
Here’s something you don’t see every day. Researchers in Switzerland have designed small, remote control “quadrocopters” capable of seeing and reacting fast enough to bounce a ball back and forth. Equipped with a tennis racket on top of them, the duo bounces the ball around a netted-off section of a Swiss building. Both units are controlled by humans, but could theoretically be programmed as well. Unfortunately, no program is fast enough to play pong in real life, yet.

aliens are here............NASA scientist finds evidence of alien life!!!!!!!!!!!

Bacteria in Meteorites Aliens Journal of Cosmology
We are not alone in the universe, says NASA astrobiologist Dr. Richard B. Hoover. And he claims to have the extraterrestrial fossils to back it up.
Aliens exist, and we have proof.
That astonishingly awesome claim comes from Dr. Richard B. Hoover, an astrobiologist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, who says he has found conclusive evidence of alien life — fossils of bacteria found in an extremely rare class of meteorite called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites. (There are only nine such meteorites on planet Earth.) Hoover’s findings were published late Friday night in the Journal of Cosmology, a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

Jetlev water-powered jetpack to launch this summer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jetlevjetpack
Jetlev is a water-powered jetpack that could be coming to a holiday resort near you soon.
Jetpacks! Every child fantasizes about flying like Superman at one point or another. That same child then grows up… and continues to dream about flying without the aid of a large, gas-guzzling vehicle like an airplane. Smaller gas-guzzling vehicles are just fine however, which is why the idea of a jetpack continues to be appealing for anyone with an active imagination. James Bond also helps, of course. Well daydream no more, as the Jetlev is about to make flying with a bulky, possibly dangerous contraption strapped to your back a reality!
Canadian inventor Raymond Li has been laboring for the past decade over his new creation, which could be available as soon as this summer, CNN reports. The water-safe Jetlev rocketbelt has three key components: the backpack itself, a 10-meter hose and an engine which doubles as a flotation device. Keep your dreams of soaring across the globe riding one of these babies in check; that 10-meter hose is the unit’s maximum range. As is demonstrated in the below video, that is more than enough to have a good time:

There are 50 billion planets in the Milky Way galaxy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the Kepler telescope, scientists now estimate that there are 50 billion planets and 500 million life-capable planets in the Milky Way galaxy.

Scientists now estimate that there are as many as 50 billion planets in our own Milky Way galaxy, reports the AP. More interesting, 500 million of them may be in zones where life could exist. These numbers come, of course, from NASA’s Kepler telescope, which was launched specifically for scientists to search for other planets. Thanks to the mission’s success, NASA has been feeding us interesting information for weeks now.
The estimates come from counting how many planets have passed through Kepler’s view so far and extrapolating that number to the full size of the galaxy. So far, Kepler has found 1,235 objects that appear to be planets with 54 of those in a region they’re calling the “Goldilocks zone,” or in a close enough orbit to a star to be perfect for sustaining life–a region that is neither too hot nor too cold.

Your next car will be made of pineapples and bananas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scientists have developed a new super-strong fiber from the stems and leaves of fruits like pineapples, bananas, and coconuts. The fiber is so strong, it may be integrated into automotive plastics in as little as two years.

Scientists have developed a new fiber from fruits like pineapples and bananas that is almost as strong as Kevlar, the fiber used in bulletproof vests. The new fruity “nono-cellulose” fiber is so strong that researchers plan to use it to reinforce plastics like those used to make automobiles. The new fibers will help bring in an era of plastics that are stronger, lighter, and more environmentally friendly than those in use today, reports PhysOrg. Unfortunately, however, your new car probably won’t taste of citrus.
“The properties of these plastics are incredible,” said Alcides Leão, leader of the study, “They are light, but very strong — 30 per cent lighter and 3-to-4 times stronger. We believe that a lot of car parts, including dashboards, bumpers, side panels, will be made of nano-sized fruit fibers in the future. For one thing, they will help reduce the weight of cars and that will improve fuel economy.”

Atomic bomb tests make for pretty, if unnerving, photography

The things America got up to in the 50s, eh? The New York Times has this week published a gallery of arresting images from atomic bomb testing done by the US military in the middle of the 20th century. From nuking its own destroyers and airships while gauging out their "vulnerability" -- let's hope that vulnerability was categorized as "total" -- to producing atomic cannons like the one you see above, the USA really went to town with its nuclear warfare practice. The Times' story is about atomic cameramen and the crazy risks they took to document these events; we'd advise giving it a read, but if you're pushed for time, just hit the source for all the wild visuals.

RockMelt Browser Opens Up To All, More Quietly This Time........!!!!!!!!

When RockMelt launched its new browser in private beta last November, it was greeted with an avalanche of press. RockMelt is a new social browser built around Facebook, realtime feeds, and faster search. The fact that Netscape founder Marc Andreessen is a major backer probably had something to do with the intense interest also.
Reviews were mixed and then interest sort of died dow
n. The only way you could try it is if a beta user sent you an invite. Until now. After more than 15 updates and months of testing with “a few hundred thousand active users,” says CEO Eric Vishria, he is ready to open up the browser to anyone who wants to try it. You can download it here at RockMelt’s site.
RockMelt is built on top of Chromium, the same open source browser that is the foundation for Google’s Chrome. It updates at about the same pace, give or take two weeks. One of the biggest criticisms of RockMelt is that it’s Chrome, but with extensions that are forced on you. RockMelt adds a rail on the left with all of your Facebook friends who are online with presence indicators, and another rail on the right with all your RSS feeds, Twitter and Gmail accounts, and custom apps. But you can hide those if you don’t like them and you can also use any of the Chrome Apps available in the Chrome Web Store.

A NEW SOLID PUNTCH GADGET FOR FACEBOOK USERS!!!!!!!

Startup PunchTab is debuting a an iPhone app,SolidPunch, today as a rewards platform for your Facebook friends. SolidPunch by PunchTab lets you reward your Facebook friends for all the favors they do for you.
You sign into the app via Facebook Connect and the app
will automatically populate your friends. You can then punch your friends when they do you a favor. Did a friend buy you lunch? You can give them a punch. Similar to the way your Subway Club Card works, your friends earn punches. When they accumulate, 6 punches you can send them a reward or coupon from the PunchTab catalog for free (PunchTab makes money when a friend uses the coupon to buy an item). And like every startup launching this week, PunchTab will be offering Austin-specific rewards for SolidPunch users.
PunchTab’s website allows publishers to give reward points to users who check in to your site or blog every day.

How To Set Up Your Own Free Wifi Hotspot With DD-WRT

set up wi-fi hotspotFor those of you who don’t know, DD-WRT is an open-source replacement firmware for household Internet routers that greatly enhances their functionality as well as providing increased performance. Though I was initially daunted by the sheer range of additional options that the DD-WRT firmware provides, I’m pleased to report there is a hell of a lot of great features in there that you’re simply missing out on with standard router software.
Last week, I talked about how you can tell if someone is stealing your Wifi – but today I’d like to show you how to let others share your Internet – with a Wifi Hotspot. Setting up a public Wifi Hotspot is great for small businesses who want to attract or offer additional value for customers, but you might also want to try it in your neighbourhood if you have a particular product or service to advertise.
