Lamborghini have been always associated with big, mean and really fast machines. News that they are bringing in one new car which would be small in shape is something which all Lamborghini fans would detest from. However with the recent demise of the Lamborghini Murcielago, Lamborghini’s way of bemoaning the loss is by introducing a quicker, better and ludicrous replacement, the Lamborghini Aventador. The latter is also named after a fighting bull and aptly so like all the Lamborghinis. News has filtered in that Lamborghini India have got an allocation of 10 Lamborghini Aventadors for the Indian market. Now, many would argue as to why is theLamborghini Aventador in India needed. But then our counter question to them would be “if you have all the moolah in the world to spare, then why not get an Aventador here?”
Actually speaking, the Lamborghini Aventador in India wouldn’t be anything different than the other Lamborghinis roaming here. Infact so much is the craze for the Aventador in here that all the people with bulging cash pockets and heavy wallets have been falling over each other in the race to own a Lamborghini Aventador here. The original name of the Lamborghini Aventador is the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. The LP as every one knows stands for Longitudinal Posteriore and this signifies the position of the engine whereas the 4 at the end stands for four wheel drive. The looks of this car are well mean and we are sure that many of the Aventador’s Indian customers would prefer it that way. It is said that the Lambo Aventador is almost 29 percent more fuel efficient than the outgoing model as also 9 percent lighter. Boeing in which Volkswagen has some stakes was also instrumental in developing the body of the Lamborghini Aventador. The entire body is made up of reinforced carbon fibre material. The chassis has also been highly developed so much so that it weighs in only at 376 kgs while at the same time giving twice more rigidity and strength than the Murcielago platform. All these weight saving and rigidity traversing has resulted in the Aventador growling its way from 0-100 kmph in only 2.9 seconds. Well, if you thought they cant better perfection, then look towards Lamborghini’s stables.
The design itself is highly inspired from the erstwhile Reventon model. Some styling cues have also been borrowed from the Estoque model. While both of these are highly exclusive models, the Aventador isn’t that exclusive. The very news that the Indian market has been allotted about 10 cars for sale is proof enough that this ain’t that exclusive as people would like to think it is. Lamborghini’s parent company is Audi and Audi have left no stone unturned in making the cabin of the Aventador the best place to be in for two people. TheLamborghini Aventador in India would come in the same trim as the one for other markets. This means high leather interiors with an all opulent feel plus complete digital instrument cluster where mph can be converted into kmph and mpg into kmpl, at the flick of a button. Soft plastic and the highest quality Multi Media Interface or MMI system is also provided.
An all new 6.5 liter V12 engine also makes its debut for the Lamborghini Aventador in India and this engine makes 700 Bhp of power and 691 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The transmission is a robotized Independent Shifting Rod or ISR, which has been specifically designed for Lamborghini and mimics the shifts of an F1 gearbox. An electronic control system from Haldex works the part of the 4 wheel drivetrain. The 19 inch front tyres and the 20 inchers at the rear act the part of giving this car a mean look. The maximum speed that one can stretch this car is to 350 kmph. The black brake calipers look absolutely menacing and needless to say, do their primary job of hauling the 1457 kgs car to a halt without any drama. Needless to say, many of the electronic aids are also present and though Lamborghini haven’t stretched on the safety aspect much, it can be safely assumed that this Lambo will have good safety sense. The Aventador’s engine is also the first all new engine developed by Lamborghini after the one in the Countach. Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini has proclaimed to the world that this car is almost two generations ahead of the other Lambos in term of design as also technology.
Now, the Indians amongst us would want to know the fuel efficiency of this V12 engined car. It is speculated to be 4.2 kmpl in city and 6.4 kmpl on the highway. Now, the Lamborghini Aventador price in India is said to be Rs 4 crores. Deliveries would start maybe in June 2011.
