The Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) is about to get underway. For those who aren’t familiar with what it’s all about, CES is one of the largest global conferences dedicated to showing off the latest in consumer technology. If you’re into mobile phones, tablets, digital entertainment, laptop or PC hardware, televisions, car technology, etc., CES is a place where you’ll probably see something new. As you might expect, Dell’s going to be part of the action next week at CES in Las Vegas.
There are three broad themes  that you’ll hear from Dell this year are Mobile Technology, Entertainment andGaming. Those themes shouldn’t be a surprise to many of you if you’ve been paying attention to products we introduced last year.  We launched mobile devices like the Dell Streak and the Venue Pro smartphone. We also re-introduced the XPS line of laptops for customers looking for high performance and an unparalleled entertainment and audio experience. And speaking of entertainment, we introduced Dell Stage in consumer products like the Inspiron duo, Dell’s mobility product with a unique form factor and the  Inspiron One all-in-one desktop. On the gaming side, we introduced a host of new Alienware desktop and laptop systems from the massive Alienware ALX desktops to the Alienware M11x portable gaming notebook.
On Thursday, January 6, several Dell execs will take part of a press conference to provide an update from Dell at CES from the Palms hotel. Steve Felice, president of our Consumer/ Small Business unit will provide of overview of the business and discuss trends we’re hearing from customers. Paul-Henri Ferrand, Consumer and Small Business CMO, will discuss how we’re designing products to meet the needs of a variety of customers and Michael Tatelman, Dell’s VP/GM of global sales and marketing, will be share details on what’s next for Dell in terms of Consumer products. Beyond that, the Alienware President and Dell Gaming GM Arthur Lewis will be hosting a Blogger Roundtable on the future of gaming and what we’re doing to push the envelope on that front.
Also for those of you who will be in Las Vegas attending CES, we’ll be at booth #26700 in South Hall 2 if you want to check things out. We’ll also be set up at the Palm Suites to provide sneak previews of what’s coming. And for those of you who won’t make it in person, it’s pretty easy to track CES news on the web. Paying attention to your favorite gadget blogs is the most obvious way. Via Twitter, follow the #CES hashtag or @IntlCES.
