Top 5 Gadgets of 2010: iPhone 4, Xbox Kinect, iPad, Galaxy S, Ominia 7

The year 2010 ends leaving some great gadgets behind. We saw Apple launching iPad and then the most amazing iPhone 4Samsung saved the day for Android fans by launching its most popular Galaxy S handset. Gaming was dominated by Microsoft Xbox Kinect and Microsoft also launched its Windows Phone 7 OS which was adopted by many smartphones including Samsung Ominia 7.
So here you go buddy, the round up for the top five gadgets released in the passing year. These five top devices make up the inception of the list of best techs in 2010. Check out below:
5. Samsung Ominia 7:
With the involvement of Samsung in Windows Phone 7, it revealed the smartphone named Samsung Ominia 7. The 4-inch Super AMOLED display phone came up with a purple aluminum on the back caped with a dark gray polycarbonate at the top and bottom. With its sleek and well-crafted design, the device supported an extended range of connectivity options with 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps uploads.

It had an A-GPS for the range of navigation and it also supported the Wi-Fi protocols including Wireless N. The phone had a 5-megapixel camera with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. Also it had a built-in memory of 8192MB and a micro-USB port with USB 2.0 version. The device was officially announced on 11 October 2010.
4. Samsung Galaxy S:
Next in line the popular Samsung Galaxy S. This Android Smartphone was announced in March 2010. It featured a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, a 4-inch 480×800 pixel resolution and 8-16GB internal Flash Memory. Like Ominia it also had a Super AMOLED touchscreen display and a 5-mega pixel camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S was the first Android phone to be certified for DivX HD and with 9.9 mm it was the thinnest Android phone at the time of its release. The phone was named the European Smartphone of the Year at the EISA Awards 2010-2011.
3. iPad:
The yet another popular Apple’s iPad came in April 2010. It particularly marketed as a platform for audio and visual media like books, periodicals, movies, music and games etc. The iPad gained a 95 percent share of Tablet PC sales at the end of second quarter 2010 and sold 3 million of the devices in just 80 days. It runs the same OS as the iPod Touch and iPhone and controlled by a multitouch display.
iPad uses a Wi-Fi data connection and some models also had a 3G wireless connection that can connect to HSPA data networks. It featured a custom 1GHz Apple “A4” chip with a 10-hour battery life, 16, 32 and 64GB sizes and Bluetooth.
2. Xbox Kinect:
Now comes the Xbox Kinect. The controller-free gaming experience released by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. It used only the gestures and spoken commands as the game controllers. The device came with a blast of technology.
Kinect was launched in North America on November 4, 2010, in Europe on November 10 and in Australia on November 18, 2010. In December 2010, it came out that Microsoft was bringing Kinect technology to Windows PCs as well. But it was a wonderful technology emergence for gaming and entertainment this passing year.
1. iPhone 4:
Last but not the least we have the much popular and top of the list, the Apple iPhone 4. This phone was a mere 9.3 mm and proved as the world’s thinnest Smartphone. It used the Apple’s A4 chip processor and could easily perform complex tasks like multitasking, video editing and FaceTime calls.
iPhone 4 came up with a 5-megapixel Camera with a resolution of 640×960 pixels and a multi-touch display, a 16/32GB internal storage and 512MB RAM and iOS 4 as the Operating System. It appeared in elegant black and white colors. The device was announced in June 2010.
