CHENNAI: Superstar Rajinikanth was taken to St Isabel's Hospital in Mylapore here on Friday after he complained of fatigue and vomiting on the first day of shooting for his coming film Rana.
Doctors attending on him said he was admitted for was dehydration and exhaustion. "He was in the intensive care unit. We gave him fluid replacement and medicines for mild stomach infection," said Dr CV Krishnaswamy, who attended on him.
According to sources, Rajini complained of breathing difficulty in the morning. His private physician, Dr M Balasubramaniam, sent him to the hospital for fluid replacements and rest, and he was discharged from hospital in the evening.
The actor is playing a triple role in the movie directed by K S Ravikumar, with whom he had earlier done Padayappa' and Muthu'. The movie, which is planned for release next year in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, will see the superstar romanceBollywood actor Deepika Padukone.
The movie also has a world-class list of technicians comprising composer A R Rahman and cinematographer R Rathnavelu, who had collaborated with the actor earlier in Enthiran'.
