Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (born April 24, 1973) is an Indian cricketer, widely considered to be one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He currently holds the records for the most cumulative runs in One-Day Internationals, and the most number of centuries scored in both One-day Internationals and Test cricket. He made his international debut against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of sixteen, becoming India's youngest Test player. Although primarily a top-order batsman, Tendulkar has often proved to be a useful and effective slow bowler. He received India's highest sporting honour, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in the year 1997-1998 and the civilian award Padma Shri in 1999. His cricketing and batting abilities are widely regarded as genius by many stalwarts of the game. For instance, Sir Donald Bradman, the Australian great said of Sachin, "He reminds me of myself". He is affectionately known as The Little Master by his adoring fans.Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (born April 24, 1973) is an Indian cricketer, widely considered to be one of the greatest batsmen of all time. IPL Cricket Awards

This is indeed a birthday gift for Sachin. Mumbai Indians captain SachinTendulkar has been selected for the best batsman award in IPL Awards ceremony while Deccan Chargers’ Pragyan Ojha bagged the best bowler honour. The IPL-3′s most prolific and exciting batsman, Tendulkar, who turned 37 on Saturday, has 570 runs in 14 matches, including five fifties. However he is still uncertain to lead Mumbai Indians in Sunday’s IPL final against Chennai Super Kings due to his hand-injury. Ojha is the most successful bowler of IPL 3. He took 21 wickets in 15 matches. Interestingly, the Awards Night was boycotted by the Board of Control forCricket in India. Here is the complete list of winner.

18 things that you must know about IPL

IPL_shahrukh_ganguly.jpgIndian Premier League has started with blasting performance from Knight Riders. Now the time has come, IPL is going to transform the world cricket. Even no one on this earth is talking about anything else, county cricket inEngland has become thing of the past. Long queues of fans are waiting outside the stadium to get an entry. This is going to be the historical event in the world of cricket. The world is watching what is happening in IPL. It has become the richest tournament in the history of world cricket. I have really a tough time whether to support Sachin’ Mumbai Indians or to support Saurabh’s Knight Riders. But most of my readers don’t know much about IPL. So it’s high time to point out 18 things that you must know about IPL.
  1. Star cricketers from all over the world are playing in Indian Premier League.
  2. It is a twenty20 cricket tournament.
  3. A Canadian company has bought the rights of official website of IPL for $50 million.
  4. 8 clubs are playing in Indian Premier League 2008. They are – Bangalore Royal Challengers, Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals....................................................................

Sourav Ganguly remain unsold for IPL 4

India’s most successful skipper ever, Sourav Ganguly, probably suffered the worst setback of his otherwise glorious career, with no franchise bidding for him in the IPL-4 players’ auction, bringing his association with the multi-million-dollar league to a sad end. The former Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper, who upped his reserve price from $200,000 to $400,000 days ahead of the auction and it is believed that it proved to be a costly error by India’s most successful skipper. Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya also failed to find a buyer on Sunday joining a high-profile list of unsold players which included among others West Indies batting great Brian Lara, Chris Gayle, Mark Boucher and Graeme Swann. Mohammed Kaif, however, got lucky as he was finally snapped up by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

List of Test cricket centuries by Sachin Tendulkar

Yesterday Sachin Tendulkar scored his 45th test century against Bangaldesh. He is regarded as the one of the greatest batsmen in the world. He is the highest run scorer in both Test match and one day international cricket. He is also the batsman with the most centuries (45 each) in either form of the game. He is the first player to score fifty centuries in all international cricketcombined, now he has ninety international centuries. In Test matches, Tendulkar has scored centuries against all the Test-cricket playing nations. He has scored a century in at least one cricket ground of all Test-cricket playingnations, except Zimbabwe. Let’s see the big list of Test cricket centuries by Sachin Tendulkar.

Ganguly to retire after Test Series with Australia

This is really a bad news for all the fans of Sourav Ganguly that he is to retire after test series with Australia. For last 12 years the trio of Sourav, Sachin and Dravid dominated the world cricket. Now one of the main pillars of Indiancricket will leave it and become history. At a press conference in Bangalore he said “This will be my last series, Before coming here I spoke to my team-mates and hopefully I will go out with a winning knock”. He is India’s most successful test captain, with India winning 21 of 49 tests played under his captaincy. He also led India into the 2003 World Cup finals. He is considered as one of the most aggressive captains of his time. Ganguly is also credited with having nurtured the careers of many young players who played under him. He is affectionately famous as ”Dada” amongst his fans and team-mates.
