Facebook Launches New Design for Pages

It’s never a small deal when Facebook makes a change to the way its 500+ million subscribers deal with their obsession.  But today, it’s rolled out a very nice update to the layout of Facebook Pages – the new design mirrors the new Profile design they launched last December.We think it’s pretty cool.  Images now show up at the top of the wall, and navigation buttons are on the left, as people are now used to on their profiles.Another interesting change is that page administrators can toggle between their Page and personal identities.  I, for example, can post either as myself or as the Chitika page.

Facebook reaches 500 million users

Social networking website, Facebook has reached a milestone today of having 500 million registered users online. After six years since its launch back in 2004, Facebook became the most popular social network today despite facing major criticism on privacy. Mark Zuckerberg released an official video on reaching 500 million mark saying Facebook will launch a stories section where people can share their experiences about Facebook.

The Social Network becomes winner of Golden Globe Awards

This year, at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, “The Social Network” won the Best Picture award. The picture is inspired by one of the co-founders of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, who riles up everyone on campus with his new and invasive website. Apart from Best Picture Award, it took home three more trophies for Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Score.

The Social Network showed up great at the Box Office and got awesomely positive feedback from the critics. Winning The Golden Globe is something very important as the Award can be accurately reflected of what could come at the Oscars.

The movie was released by Sony Pictures, directed by David Fincher and scripted by Aaron Sorkin, this movie is expected to win the Academy Awards as well, the nominations of which announced on January 25. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Fan Page Hacked

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg Facebook Fan page has been hacked.The unknown hacker posted a message calling upon the firm to transform into a “social business“. The message did not go unnoticed before Facebook removed it,with more than 1800 likes and hundreds of comments.

“Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? The message seems harmless but it clearly speaks a lot, if Facebook can’t keep it’s CEO’s account safe then, who can? Facebook has made no public statement about the hacker , but if Zuckerberg’s fan page was indeed hacked, it’s a big deal.

Will Facebook end on March 15th, 2011?

The rumor is fast spreading that the multi-zillion dollar website that connects millions of people from around the world is going to shut down on March 15th, 2011, the site will end entirely. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office.

” Facebook has gotten out of control and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.” Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.
“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased. While Facebookhasn’t officially
