In case you haven’t heard, today is school election day, and there’s plenty you need to know about regarding what’s on the ballot. Here’s a list of topics you should be aware of.
You Need to Know Where and When to Vote: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Washington Township, and can be accessed at Long Valley Middle School; Washington Township Public Library; and Flocktown Road School.
You Need to Know About Budgets: Washington Township is served by two school districts; the Washington Township (grades K-8) and West Morris Regional (grades 9-12). This means you will be voting for two separate budgets. The Washington Township budget is a 0.41 percent increase over last year’s, and the West Morris Regional budget is a 0.48 percent increase over 2010. For more info on the K-8 budget, go here.
