Nokia X7 and E6, new Symbian handsets !!!!!!!!!!

Nokia has announced two new handsets: the X7 and the E6. Both devices are running an enhanced version of Symbian 3.0 called "Anna"
Though Nokia is switching its efforts from Symbian to Windows Phone in the next year or so, it’s efforts to break back into the U.S. market are already heating up. Today, the Finnish phone maker unveiled the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6, two new smartphones using a revamped version of Symbian called “Anna.”

Much like the T-Mobile Astound, which was shown off at CTIA a few weeks ago, both the Nokia X7 (specs) and Nokia E6 (specs) feature an enhanced version of Symbian with a much better Web browser, a new keyboard with Swipe, and a more responsive touch interface. However, Nokia has gone a step further with these new devices, improving its turn-by-turn Ovi Maps application, redoing the aging Symbian operating system icons, and adding some enhanced security features. The hardware seems to be improved as well. Both phones have a stainless steel frame with a tighter design than we’ve seen on Nokia devices lately. The X7, in particular, is quite thin looking, which goes nicely with its 4-inch screen.

Gartner: Windows Phone 7 will overtake iOS by 2015 !!!!!!!!

Gartner says that Windows Phone 7 will climb the ranks, and quickly - by 2015, it will be second only to Android.

Android’s getting a lot of attention for being forecast as becoming the OS for over half of all smartphones by 2012, but the real story in the report is thatGartner thinks Windows Windows Phone 7 will overtake iOS by 2015 and claim the number two spot.
Despite the skeptical reception the Nokia-Microsoft merger received, its long-term payoff will help drive Windows Phone 7 to a 19.5-percent market share come 2015. Speculation from the report also hints that Apple won’t be so concerned with holding market share, instead preferring to maintain its own profit margins.

BlackBerry 9930 aka Bold Touch !!!!!!!!!!!!

For some time now BlackBerry has been facing stiff competition from the likes of Android and of course the iPhone, but Research In Motion has remained steadfast and continually released business orientated handsets.
However according to an article over on Phone Dog, RIM changes things with the BlackBerry 9330 also known as the BlackBerry Bold Touch as the smartphone sports a touch screen and keyboard along with BlackBerry OS 6.6.1, which leads one to believe RIM is placing high end specs into the device.
Those high-end spec, although most are not know just yet could mean RIM is gearing up to make the Blackberry Bold 9930 a real contender in the mobile space.

Japanese scientists develop human-shaped phone that feels like real skin!!!!!!!!!!

There are no limits to the imagination of Japanese scientists. A group of researchers has created a portly mobile phone that is shaped like a naked genderless doll and feels like human skin.
japanese-human-phone-that-feels-like-skin
Science is always marching forward, but does it need to carry a human-shaped phone in its pocket? Yesterday, Japanese researchers at Osaka University announced that they have created a human-shaped mobile phone with an outer coating that feels like skin, reports the AFP. The goal: to let you “feel closer” to those you’re talking to on the phone. We wonder, do Japanese men and women often touch faces as they talk to their friends?
“The mobile phone may feel like the person you are talking to,” said the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) in a press release. It also described the gadget as a “revolutionary telecom medium.”
The current prototype is a bit bigger than a human hand. Shaped like a unisex doll, it has a speaker in its head and a blue/red LED light embedded in its chest, which notifies users when the phone is in use or in standby. Future iterations of the device will have image and voice recognition, so you’re phone will know what you look and sound like. Scientists hope to have a human-phone on the market within the next five years.

NOKIA C7 REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ctia-2011-t-mobile-astound-nokia-c7
Nokia may be moving toward Windows Phone, but with the T-Mobile Astound (C7), it shows that with a few needed upgrades, Symbian can still function as a good entry-level smartphone.
Nokia may have signed a deal with Microsoft, but it isn’t ready to abandon Symbian just yet. While it readies its first batch of Windows Phones, the Finnish handset maker is giving Symbian one more shot in the U.S. market. Together with T-Mobile, a wireless carrier that will similarly cede itself to AT&T in the year ahead, it has released the C7 under a friendly new name the “T-Mobile Astound.” And astound it does. It took a complete death in the U.S. market, but Nokia has fixed a few of the most glaring issues with its most recent slate of Symbian devices and we’re happy to say that the C7 is a decent beginner device for those who want to wade, not plunge, into the land of smartphones.

Snappier

If you used the Nokia N8 or other recent Symbian devices, the first thing you’ll notice about the Astound is how snappy it is. Nokia took steps to speed up the responsiveness of the homescreens and app start-ups on the C7 and their efforts were well worth it. With the widgeted homescreens of Symban 3.0, the Astound looks and acts like part of the Android and iOS gang.

BlackBerry Playbook review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Research In Motion confirms pricing and an April 19 release date for its upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook tablet as pre-orders open at Best Buy.
blackberry-playbook-screen
BlackBerry developer Research In Motion has arguably been the hardest-hit following the arrival of the iPhone and the growth in the global smartphone market that followed. Still, if you are going to bet on any company to successfully compete with Apple in this post-iPad world, RIM is your best choice. The tech firm is still a dominating presence in the business world, and that’s the angle it is taking with its soon-to-arrive PlayBook tablet, which is now officially priced, dated and open for pre-orders.
Best Buy posted three pre-order product pages for the 7-inch tablet last night, with the 16GB model costing $499.99, the 32GB modelcosting $599.99 and the top-level 64GB model costing $699.99. Pre-orders are now open, and a RIM press release confirms that the product will arrive in select stores — namely, Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile and Future Shop — on April 19.
Best Buy and Future Shop are the first retailers to get the tablet, but RIM further confirms that you’ll eventually be able to find it pretty much anywhere that deals in tech goods, including Staples, Office Depot and Radio Shack. The PlayBook will also be available from three of the top four wireless providers in the country, AT&TSprint andVerizonT-Mobile is notably absent from the list, though that won’t exactly matter in another 12 months.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 concept design

After the Nokia-Microsoft partnership announcement to bring up Nokia Windows Phone 7 Smartphones, the first of Nokia WP7 Smartphone’s concept design photo has hit the internet today. Tech blogengadget published this photo yesterday which gives an idea of what actually Nokia-Microsoft are going to deliver in future.
