Gartner: Windows Phone 7 will overtake iOS by 2015 !!!!!!!!

Gartner says that Windows Phone 7 will climb the ranks, and quickly - by 2015, it will be second only to Android.

Android’s getting a lot of attention for being forecast as becoming the OS for over half of all smartphones by 2012, but the real story in the report is thatGartner thinks Windows Windows Phone 7 will overtake iOS by 2015 and claim the number two spot.

Despite the skeptical reception the Nokia-Microsoft merger received, its long-term payoff will help drive Windows Phone 7 to a 19.5-percent market share come 2015. Speculation from the report also hints that Apple won’t be so concerned with holding market share, instead preferring to maintain its own profit margins.

Sony Ericsson launches the Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc in India !!!!!!!!!!!

Sony Ericsson has added to its Xperia smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Xperia Arc and the Xperia Play in India for Rs. 32,000 and Rs. 35,000 respectively.

Lets start with the self-proclaimed gaming smartphone: The Xperia Play.

The Xperia Play is a PlayStation certified smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and boasts of dedicated Dual Shock style gaming controls along with six axis motion controls. 

Under the hood, the Xperia Play runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU with Adreno 205 GPU and 1GB ROM. The device has a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 854x480 pixel and internal storage of 400MB expandable to 32GB via a micro SD card. The rear of the device houses a 5MP camera with LED flash. The Xperia Play will come preloaded with 6 games and 70 games will be available for download via the PlayStation Pocket Store.

A new look at the Droid X2 review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some more images of the supposed Droid X2 have surfaced, revealing some decent pictures, but no new information.

Android Central has gotten its hands on some new images of the upcoming Motorola Droid X2. The photo quality isn’t anything to get excited about, and they don’t reveal anything new since the supposedly leaked pictures we got a look at in February.  The device will allegedly launch during the second quarter, and that’s about all we know. There are varying reports about its specs but just for the sake of Droid love, here are the latest:

• Android 2.2.2 (Froyo)
• HDMI output, Micro USB port
• 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash

Otherwise, the device is nearly identical to the original Droid X. Its specs (from what we’ve heard thus far) are pretty similar as well, which might get you wondering what exactly is new and different about the Droid X2. There’s no hint as to whether it will run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, but it seems fairly safe to assume it will. For anything else, we’ll keep our ear to ground on new details and of course, keep waiting for the phone’s official announcement in the Motorola lineup. Until then, enjoy.

The Motorola PRO – Qwerty Android Business Smartphone

Motorola recently announced PRO, a qwerty smartphone powered by Google Android 2.2.   The phone is said to be optimized for business use and is set for the European market.

The specs are pretty much the same with every new phone.  There’s nothing remarkable.  It features a 1 GHz processor with 2 GB internal memory and expandable external memory with SD card up to another 32 GB, as well as 3G mobile hotspot support for up to five other Wi-Fi-enabled devices/laptops and a QWERTY keyboard designed for speed and convenience.
