The renowned Gandhian Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign has come in handy for the state politicians to proclaim their probity and  prightness and also hit out at their rivals.

The political parties of all hues have come out in support of Anna Hazare's fast demanding introduction of Jana Lokpal Bill in the Parliament.

Some leaders have even taken out rallies to express solidarity with the social activist. They displayed competitive zeal to make right noises and get noticed.

In a game of one-upmanship, the politicians have ridiculed each other for joining the anti-corruption campaign.

RGV: Who is Anna Hazare?

Social activist Anna Hazare's "fast unto death" in his fight against corruption has stirred up support across the nation, but filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is oblivious to it all, wondering who is Hazare.

Unlike many from the film fraternity who have voiced support to the cause, Varma said he was too busy with his film work.

"I have no idea who Anna Hazaare is as I don't keep track of anyone expect (sic) for film people and gangsters. I don't know what he is fasting for because I don't know what he or anybody else in the whole world is up to as I am too busy in my film work," Varma posted on his Twitter page Thursday.

The multi-lingual filmmaker said he would never fast for anything or anyone except himself. However, he hoped the buzz on social networking sites due to Hazare's protest ultimately reaps benefit.

Anna Hazare Was Insulted Badly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most talked about hero of the nation the past few days is not the Shahrukhs or Sachins. It is a mere 72 year old man who is known as a social activist.

Sporting a Gandhi cap and regular Khadi dress, he mobilized the entire nation and to an extent, made the Indian government nod to his demands. Yes, he is Anna Hazare and while all this looks hunky dory with a ray of revolution in a nation filled with worst corruption and even worse politicians, here is an irony that stares right at the face of truth.

It is the pledge of support offered by the so-called role models of society – Ramoji Rao, Gali Janardhan Reddy, Y S Jagan, Chandrababu Naidu and Lalith Modi. A little insight into each one’s profile will reveal the scams and unethical practices they have been involved over the years. Today, they are standing and expressing their support which is ridiculous. The World Cup happened, many Indians waved the flags, shared happiness so there ends the matter. But politics and changing the system, that’s an entirely different ball game.

Anna to end his fast as Govt agrees to re-draft Lokpal Bill!!!!!

Gandhian crusader Anna Hazare scored a stupendous victory on Friday night with a cornered UPA government accepting all his demands on how a new Lokpal Bill would be drafted for presentation in Parliament's Monsoon session.

Hazare, however, said he would end his fast around 10 am on Saturday, the time by when a government order (GO) constituting a joint drafting committee - co-chaired by a senior minister (most likely, Pranab Mukherjee) and legal luminary Shanti Bhushan, Hazare's nominee - is expected.

"It is the people's voice that you (the government) are listening to. If you are still deaf, people will teach you a lesson. I am ready to sacrifice my life for this," Hazare said on Friday.
